Guides for dock and lift owners

These are readings of Ameren Missouri’s public rules, plus a few cost figures other publishers have printed. They are not permits, and they are not quotes.

Lake Ozarks Dock & Lift is operated by Blake Reitnauer as a referral service. It is not a dock builder, not an Ameren-certified dock builder, and not affiliated with Ameren Missouri. Requests are referred to one independent Ameren-certified dock builder, not to a list of contractors.

Start with the question you actually have.

A new dock, a sale, or a fee. The permit guide and the transfer checklist cover the $550 application, the $100 transfer, and the 12-month electrical inspection. The enforcement fee is what happens if the work is already in the water.

A lift. Sizing and Ameren’s placement rules come before cost. There is no invented price table.

Foam, a roof, or a dock that is too big. Approved flotation, refoam versus rebuild, what cannot go on a dock, walkways and length limits, and the 3,000 square foot rule.

Water level, storms, and power. Lake levels, storm repairs, and electrical inspections.

Who may do the work, and when to call. How to check a certified builder and why fall and winter are the quoting season.

Ameren’s own pages control if anything here disagrees with them. Appendix B was revised June 30, 2025. The permitting page was checked October 22, 2026.
